Before, I felt a lack of control of my thoughts, feelings, emotions and direction in life. I felt like my day-to-day was unpredictable. Now, I feel like I have strategies to deal with ups and downs and manage my way through any potential relapses.
– Client review
Deciding to go to therapy conjures up every TV or movie depiction of a client and therapist sitting in a dimly lit room while the client talks and talks about their problems. They never show the ACTUAL work that is necessary for REAL change to happen. They just show weekly sessions, and BOOM… an epiphany is made and they’re all better. Sadly, many of us have been in therapy on and off for years, mistakenly thinking that this was all that was necessary.
In contrast, signing up for a class requires a forthright, pre-thought-out decision to make a commitment of our time. We’ve all been students. We know homework is going to be involved. You want to learn the actual tools for real change.
The concept of an “online class” is where an “instructor” assigns homework for the “student” to do at home and one weekly “class” where we meet privately one on one. It’s the exact same thing I do for my clients in therapy, but it appeals to the student in all of us and mentally prepares us for the amount of work necessary to take a class. It helps us put the effort in so that we can make radical change.
I provide individualized classes on the following topics:
- Assertiveness Tools and Effective Boundaries
- Communication Skills for Couples
- How to Handle Conflict and Disagreements in Your Relationship
- The Psychology of Self-Sabotage
Most classes are similar, except you have to go through the hassle of registering for enrollment, your weekly sessions aren’t private, and these days everyone and their cousin offers online pre-recorded, non-interactive courses. Mentally preparing ourselves with the expectation of doing work will ultimately determine how much benefit each of us receives. Doing something for yourself and seeing results can be pretty damn motivating. It’s growth and accountability in action.
During the eleven weeks of class, you will have the opportunity to move from feeling confused and instead find a sense of purpose and clarity that results in your own step-by-step plan to reach your personal and relationship goals.
I want to help you radically change your life through these classes. Are you ready to get started?
